This past school year, our city endured several tragic losses as multiple students from surrounding high schools took their lives.  After one of these terrible weeks, a group from City Center Church met at the school to walk the grounds and pray.

 

That day God birthed an idea out of Nehemiah 4:9 that says, “But we prayed to our God and guarded the city day and night to protect ourselves.”  A vision was born that we believe is critical to taking back our city from the enemy's grasp.  Instead of reacting when tragedy strikes, we need to be proactive in prayer to thwart every attack of the enemy before another student in our city is lost.

 

Enter The Guardians Initiative – a program to get people praying on a daily & monthly basis for our schools.  We are going to begin with Johnson County. There are 194 private and public schools in Johnson County – and it is our goal to have at least one person praying for each one of these schools on a daily basis and also making a commitment on the 1st Saturday of every month at 8:00 AM to walk the perimeter of their chosen school and pray over the lives of every student who attends.  

 

It is time that we take our city and the lives of every young person back from the claws of the enemy.  Will you help us?
